This is a business oriented hotel, 30 minutes from the airport and good for tourists, with the duty free shopping of Kuah Jetty. The nearby beaches are some of the finest in Malaysia and 100 islands comprise the archipelago. Pulau Payer Marine Park south of Langkawi, has colorful displays of corals and such sea life as moray eels, rock groupers, black-tip sharks and clown fish (like Nemo). The hotel has generous rooms that are nicely decorated. The restaurant serves local land international food. The Sports bar has Karaoke, a dart corner, and American 8 ball pool. The business facilities are capable of hosting conferences. This is a fascinating part of Malaysia and the Langkawi Hotel makes a good, inexpensive base.
